Nicole Issa’s music gives you the hug you need after a breakup. The essence of a gentle friend that gives you space to mourn and the energy to heal and keep going.
Hailing from Sydney’s South-West, the indie-pop artist and songwriter is a masterful storyteller. Through a seamless blend of heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies, Nicole creates a sonic journey through the emotional landscapes of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery.
Nicole is currently in the release cycle for her debut EP, Bring It Back To Me.
Her first single, ‘Shadow’, was featured on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop show, with Maia Beth describing her music as a “hug in song form.” Building on that momentum, her second single, “Cliché”, has resonated locally, with Tiffi from Triple J calling it a “folk pop banger” and naming Nicole “one to keep an eye on.”
Now, with her third single “I Don’t Know Myself,” Nicole turns inward in her most vulnerable release to date. Written following her diagnosis and surgery for stage three endometriosis and adenomyosis, the track unpacks the intersection of chronic illness, body image, and intergenerational trauma.
Built around stripped-back piano and layered, immersive vocals, the song captures the disconnection that comes from years of medical and personal dismissal - and the quiet, ongoing journey back to self.
“I Don’t Know Myself” continues Nicole’s deeply personal songwriting, turning the same emotional lens she brings to love and relationships inward.
Nicole Issa continues to build international momentum following her recent Sofar Sounds US showcase tour. Her music has been featured on Live Nation’s Ones To Watch and earned coverage from tastemaker outlets including EARMILK, CLOUT and Rotate Mag, alongside radio support from 4ZZZ, Unearthed, Triple J and FBi Radio. A 2025 mentee in the inaugural APRA AMCOS 23% Mentorship program, Nicole has also received recognition on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop for her single Are You Really Worth It and Shadow, and performed at BIGSOUND 2024 as a finalist in the JBL Martin Garrix Music Academy.
“I just want to write my truth and have people hear my story. I hope this small part of my story brings joy to other people’s lives.”
